Debi West
Debi West, Ed.S, NBCT, owner of WESTpectations Educational Consulting is a retired art educator where she taught elementary and secondary kiddos in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She spent her career using project-based learning and art with purpose theories with the commitment of ensuring that every student became a successful and unique learner.
Debi has written and published over 150 articles, 3 books, and 8 teaching resource guides and is a leader in the field of art education. She has worked tirelessly with the NAEA as elected past Southeastern Vice President, SE division director (elementary and secondary) and Past President, YAM Chair, and Conference Coordinator with the GAEA. She’s presented over 100 workshops, keynotes and presentations and her visual art and jewelry has been exhibited in numerous galleries.
Debi has been the recipient of many awards throughout her career, including the 2021 National Emeritus Art Educator, Georgia Art Educator of the Year, National Elementary Art Educator, National Southeastern Secondary Art Educator, National NAHS Sponsor of the Year, the Marion Quin Dix Leadership award, etc and was a top 10 Georgia Teacher of the Year finalist representing Gwinnett. She dedicates these awards to the thousands of students she has been honored to teach throughout the years.
Debi currently resides in Hilton Head, SC with her husband Chuck and is the proud mom of Croy and Carson.
